Google Idols or Idiot Idolatry?

THE GOOD MR. GODIN reminded me about the big Google contest that I had somehow managed to forget about. Google Idol is now in the semi-final stage for both Lip-sync and Music Video categories. There is no denying that there is a market for silliness. You might even say that silliness sells. An injection of pure, unadulterated frivolity goes a long way after hours, weeks or months of predictable routine and responsibility. Well, semi-finalists Kelly and Pomme certainly inject some frivolity into the competition. Their rendition of Aretha Franklin’s R-E-S-P-E-C-T is recommended if you have been on the serious lane of life for too long now. Take a break for a few minutes and give the girls some respect for flexing their lips to a great song.

  1. Tom O'Leary says:

I know, there’s something very attractive about their insanity! Here here for a little silliness. A more frightening thought, perhaps they were being serious? Nah…

  2. Paul says:

Ha ha ha… That’s so cool.

But who to vote for? Arra sure give them both a prize!
