It seems that typepad is down. I’ve been trying to drop by a few typepad blogs with no success for over an hour now. Please excuse any non-working links in my previous few posts. There were a couple of typepad links in them. I’m sure that it is only a temporary glitch, but in this new age of communication, temporary seems like forever.

Update: Power Outages in San Francisco apparently cause the downtime (thanks Dr. X!), not only for Typepad, but several others who are hosted in the Bay area. Read: Blame Murphy’s Law, Excessive Hubris for Blackouts in SF (Techdirt)

  1. Power outages in SF took out Typepad and a few other major sites. Power back and services gradually being restored.

  2. Thanks for the heads up. Saw the power outage news yesterday, but I didn’t put the two together. Technology is only as good as the power that gives life to it.

    Coincidentally, it was on the same day last year when MySpace shut down due to record heat in California.
