How to Fix Broken Images

In GroupMail, you can insert images using local or remote image paths. A local image is stored locally (c:\…) on the computer that GroupMail is installed on. A remote image is an image that is stored remotely on a website (http://)

If the images in your message aren’t displaying, there is a good chance that the path to the image is not properly structured with a full local or remote path.

To check this, right click on the image placemark. This is usually represented by a square, sometimes with a red x in it. Other times, it might be just white space where the image should be. When you right-click on that space, select “Image Properties”.

On the image properties screen, you will see a space for local and remote paths. In the image below, you can see that the image path is shown as z:\… which isn’t a local path for the computer that GroupMail is installed on.

If the image that you want to use is not already saved to a local drive on the computer that GroupMail is installed on, save the image to a local folder and then edit the path to point to the new local path where you saved the image. You can do this manually or use “Browse” to locate the newly saved local image. You can also adjust the image size, border, alignment and spacing on this screen. Click OK when you are done.

Now, your image will display in your message (see below).
