Although it isn’t really a laughing matter if you’re trying to get a nicely formatted HTML email to render successfully across various email clients; here’s a light view of what email marketers are up against today without HTML email standards in place.

HTML Email Rendering

The Email Standards Project is working hard to get email client developers and designers to implement standards for HTML email.

According to a US Email Trends and Benchmark report published by Epsilon in January 2009, email continues to perform well, with delivery rates higher than 93 percent. This is great news, considering the amount of filtering mechanisms in place today between senders and recipients.

Click-through rates increased by .5% in Q3 2008 from the previous quarter and open rates have remained stable at 19-21%.

Most importantly though, as far as email marketers are concerned, the ROI for email continues to impress, with $0.14 in revenue being returned for every email delivered. This suggests that email marketing is recession proof.

eMarketer forecasts that spending on email marketing will increase by $16 million in 2009, from $472 million in 2008 to $488 million this year.

If you need a reliable email marketing application to create, send and manage your 2009 campaigns, try GroupMail. We’ve released two new version updates already this year. If you have questions about email marketing, let us know.

Email marketing is ever changing. All technology is. To that end, our developers are constantly busy making sure that GroupMail evolves with technological advancements, industry standards and (most importantly) customer requirements.

Today, we released GroupMail v. 5.2.0.075. This is the second version release to our email marketing software already this year.

For details, visit our GroupMail Blog.

If I was in Ireland, I’d buy our developers a Guinness. They deserve it.

GroupMail can be downloaded in English, Spanish, French or German. The localized editions are included in version 5.2.0.45 (and later) of our award-winning group email application. You can select your language preference during installation.

For more information (in Spanish) please visit GroupMail’s Spanish website

La última versión de GroupMail puede ser instalado en español. Después de descargar GroupMail, usted puede seleccionar su lengua preferida durante la instalación.

GroupMail took a Silver Medal in the recently published 2009 Email Marketing Software Review – second only to Email Marketing Director, which retails for around $500 (that’s almost $400 more than GroupMail).

It’s not surprising that GroupMail is used in over 160 countries around the world by individuals and organizations of all types and sizes. It is also available in 4 languages in 2009 (English, Spanish, French and German)

* Again, in this year’s review, they left several features unchecked in GroupMail’s review, namely:

  • GroupMail does support background images
  • You can change background colors
  • You can delete duplicate emails
  • You can easily remove unsubscribed contacts
  • We do have phone support
  • We do have FAQs addressed in our online tutorial library
  • Vista and Microsoft Server 2003 are fully compatible with GroupMail

But we won’t quibble with a few feature omissions. After 13 years, we know that GroupMail is one of the most robust solutions on the market.
